Enlightenment
in a blind hallway... it depends on the view!
Upstairs
at Ye Bitten Dog Inn, at the end of the hallway, is Knute's room.
In order to gain entrance, change the camera angle at the top of the stairs
using the bracket [ ] keys, then navigate near to the door and hand cursor

Prince
Arutha's encouragement
A
brief visit to the palace triggers a unique encounter with the Prince who
furnishes a clue to the party's next destination.

When
a Nighthawk lingers, many will come to his aid
Pick
a fight with the 2 Nighthawks at Ye Bitten Dog Inn. Delay killing
one of them and the rest of the customers will join the battle. However,
choosing this scenario will prohibit Sullen Michael from delivering his
clues to the group.

James'
safety depends on a mage's skill with fire
Especially
in close quarters, Jazhara's Sunray spell will immobilize a single adversary.
Demonblade and Phoenix Blades makes the fighter's blade even more deadly.
A sure-cast ring like the Ring of Flames will assure a successful casting
of Path of Fire spells on all allies, the caster and enemies without resistance.

A building
burns, but Fire Oil abounds
Combat within and outside
the jail involves many adversaries who carry containers of Fire Oil.
Rushing (moving within hand weapon range) opponents will prevent
them from tossing the Fire Oil at members of the party and will preserve
it for looting afterwards. (Other than the battle at the jail, fire
oil is a somewhat scarce commodity in early chapters.)

A sneak
attack stretches limited supplies
During
the assault on the jail, no visits to a shop are permitted... and that
means the party must survive with only the supplies carried in inventory.
Should the attack against the archers in the alley prove too difficult,
an easier approach is available by circling counter-clockwise around the
back of the jail through an entry ablaze from an explosion.
